In short: Stillglass is free to use, stores everything on your own computer, and comes with no warranty. You are responsible for your own data, including keeping backups of it.
Acceptance
By installing or using Stillglass ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not install or use the app.
Licence
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for personal or commercial purposes. You may not resell the app, redistribute it as your own, or attempt to reverse-engineer it except where that right cannot be restricted by law.
Cost
Stillglass is free. There is no subscription, no trial period, and no feature inside the app that requires a payment to unlock.
Your data is yours, and it is local
All timers, focus sessions and preferences are stored on your own computer, in your home directory. We never receive a copy and cannot access them.
This has a consequence worth stating plainly: if that data is lost, we cannot recover it for you. There is no cloud copy, no synchronisation and no server-side backup, because the app never sends anything anywhere. Deleting the app's data folder, losing the device, or a disk failure means the focus history stored there is gone. If your history matters to you, include your home directory in your own backups.
Accuracy of recorded time
The app is built to record focus time faithfully — paused time is not counted, and closing the window or letting the machine sleep will not invent time you did not spend. Sessions that are stopped almost immediately are discarded rather than saved. However, the recorded figures are provided for your own reference and should not be relied upon as an authoritative record for billing, employment or legal purposes.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your particular requirements.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, productivity or profits, arising out of your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Updates and availability
The app may be updated from time to time through the Microsoft Store. We may change or discontinue the app, in whole or in part, at any time. Because your data is stored locally, discontinuation does not remove data already on your computer.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised; the current version is always published on this page with the date shown above. Continuing to use the app after a revision means you accept the revised terms.
